MotoRetreat - Frequently Asked Questions

I’m coming to the MotoRetreat, what should I bring?

Bring food, drinks, clothes, and toiletries. We have a kitchen with all the pots, pans, and utensils you’ll need. We also have a washer and dryer with detergent and dryer sheets. We provide towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We also have a hair dryer and an iron.

What is the address of the MotoRetreat?

The address will be revealed 5 days prior to booking. This is to protect the privacy of our guests. If you would like to map to the area, use the address of the Pollock Pines Safeway, only 1 mile away!

I’m coming in the winter; will there be snow?

Maybe! The MotoRetreat is at 3850 feet elevation, which is right at the snow line. Below are the average snowfall amounts for each month:

Month Inches of snow
November 2.7
December 9.6
January 14.2
February 13.1
March 12.0
April 7.6

We’ve seen almost completely dry winters (2021-2022) and we’ve seen 7 feet of snow on the ground (2022-2023)! We do have shovels and sleds in the garage (our property includes an epic sledding hill!). We will let you know ahead of time if AWD/4WD is required to access the property.

If you want to see if we have snow right now, you can reference the Pollock Pines Traffic Cameras.

Can I ride my dirt bike right from the house?

You’ll need a dual sport (license plate) to legally ride from the house. That said, we are only a few miles to the El Dorado National Forest and some great forest roads that have trail offshoots. We have a large driveway and a garage where you can park your truck/trailer! Georgetown and PiPi/Elkins Flat (both allow red sticker year round!!!) are two of the most popular OHV areas in the area, and they are both within 30 miles of the MotoRetreat. They both offer networks of trails ranging from easy green double track to challenging black single track. We are just outside the Placerville Ranger District on the Motor Vehicle Use Maps.

I’ll provide directions/GPS tracks for on-road or offroad routes to any booked reservations!
